Since the war begun, more than 9 million people have fled the country. But unfortunately, there is also almost a million of internally displaced refugees who can not afford to leave the country or a new living in another city.

Together with Save Ukraine, we are working on the urgent construction of prefabricated houses for internally displaced families. With a fairly low production cost, they have all the basic necessities to host a family. They are produced in Ukraine, and moved to the required location.

How we solve this project

According to data from the regional military administrations as of 1 January 2023, between 24 February and 18 October 2022 – in the areas accessible for counting – around 160,000 architectural properties were damaged or destroyed.

Residential properties predominated among the damaged properties, amounting to 142,000. Of these, more than 54,000 have suffered up to 50% and 88,000 50-100% damage, caused by the occupying forces of the Russian Federation during the hostilities on the ukrainian territory.

As a result of these events, a significant number of people are are homeless or currently living in difficult conditions.

The EIU team considers as an initial solution the construction of prefabricated houses for those families who have lost their homes as a result of their total or partial destruction and/or those families who have lost their homes due to their departure from the temporarily occupied territories.

The construction of such a house takes up to three months and can cost between 20,000 and 38,000 euros, depending on the size of the area required.
