With the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, the mobilisation and involvement of the whole of Europe was masterful. Spain was no different. In a city located in the north of Spain with just over 120,000 inhabitants, they demonstrated the great solidarity of its people.

Thanks to an initiative devised by our partner Juan Francisco Martín Fresneda, the Association “Amigos Leoneses Ucranianos Damnificados” and the television channel La8 León, they managed to collect 72 tons of aid sent to Ukraine in a convoy made up of 3 trucks, 6 drivers, 4 motorbikes and a support vehicle. After 48 hours of continuous travel, they managed to cross the Slovakian-Ukrainian border and distribute all kinds of first aid products throughout the country.

To overcome the lack of military equipment, a shipment of military equipment was sent from Mallorca, Spain.
